Subject: How Do I Pay My School Fees?
To: <mode.oyeleke@gmail.com>
Maybe you've already paid, or maybe you haven't. Either way, as long as you live, bills are inevitable. One major reason people opt for federal universities, beyond their prestigious reputation, is the perceived affordability of their fees. However, with the current economic climate in the country, it feels like nothing is affordable anymore, right? Everyone faces challenges: health issues, relationship struggles, academic hurdles, spiritual growth barriers, and so on. But one issue seems to unite people across all divides: financial struggles. Some are fortunate to have parents who can fully handle their fees. However, statistics show that more people today have to fund their education or at least a part of it by themselves. Whether fully dependent on parents or not, we all need to trust God to meet our financial needs. At some point or another, we all face bills, and this article is here to help you navigate them with God’s perspective. So, let’s tweak the original question a bit: How Do I Pay My Bills? "Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me, you can do nothing."– John 15:4-5 (NLT) Let’s zoom in on that last part: “Apart from me, you can do nothing.” As children of God, our lives shouldn’t be compartmentalized. Even the financial aspect of our lives, like paying bills, should be fully surrendered to God. People offer various tips on becoming financially capable; but for a believer, it all boils down to one key truth: apart from Christ, we can truly do nothing. So, here’s my encouragement for you today: Take your financial challenges to God every single time. But that doesn’t mean folding your arms! Be valuable. Acquire skills. Read books. Attend conferences and seminars. Watch YouTube videos. Apply for jobs, grants, and scholarships. Start businesses. Be diligent in everything you do, but don’t do any of it apart from Jesus Christ. How Do You Handle Bills with Christ? It’s simple: 1. Pray. 2. Sow as led. 3. Follow biblical financial principles (which we’ll be exploring in future newsletters—stay tuned!) Prayer I pray from the depths of my heart: for anyone reading this who is struggling with fees or any financial burden, may God provide for you miraculously before this week runs out. In Jesus' name, Amen! God can and will pay your bills. Courtesy: Oyeleke Modenuolaoluwa & Sobande Olamide For the RCF Unilag Finance Team © 2025 RCF UNILAG |
